With the cold weather well and truly here, the only way to face leaving the house is by  wrapping up warm in polo necks, fur (the faux kind of course) and woolly hats.So on that note today I am sharing some cold weather outfit inspiration. Hope you enjoy! Talk soon Xx Elle

A touch of sparkle

During the week I attended Trinity College fashion show and this is the outfit I donned for the event. I had planned on not wearing any tights but when the night came around it was far too cold to not wear them. I would have been crazy to leave the house without them! I wanted to add something a little different to the outfit so I put these little navy sparkly socks on over my tights. This addition was either going to be a master creation or a complete fail but in the end it turned out that I really liked the look. The outfit is actually a shift dress underneath the fluffy jumper. I love the pocket detail on the dress as it gives the look a kind of sixties feel. Needless to say once I was inside at the event this jumper kept me lovely and cosy all night long.

Playing dress up

DSC08199DSC08207DSC08209DSC08211DSC08215DSC08203I love having a night out with my friends, not only because we always have great fun, but it also gives me an excuse to dress up. Sometimes I find that dressing for a night out is easier than dressing for college because even if your outfit is a little on the casual side, by adding a pair of heels and some great accessories it can instantly be taken to the next level. On the other hand, when dressing for college it can sometimes be tricky finding the right balance between comfort and style. A day of lectures from 9-6 requires an outfit in which I feel comfortable, however I also like to look stylish and this is where the ‘I have nothing to wear feeling’ when looking in a wardrobe full of clothes kicks in. I think that a good solution to this problem is to create a wardrobe with a selection of good quality basics and then adding to the collection with more fashionable pieces. I am going to attempt to stick to this master plan of mine from now on rather than buying once-off expensive pieces of clothing first (Not a good idea when on a student budget!)

I wore this leather skirt and ribbed top to a friends’ birthday last weekend. Both the top and skirt are from Zara and the shoes are from Asos. I must say that these are my favourite pair of heels at the moment as the smaller, chunkier heel allows me to last in them all night and also saves me from hobbling around the dance floor!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! How it is coming to the end of November already baffles me, but that means one thing… Christmas is well and truly on the way!  Talk soon Xx Elle

Look of the week- Natasha Oakley (week 3)

, , , , ,

Tash OakleyThis weeks ‘Look of the week’ goes to the stunning Australian blogger Natasha Oakley. Natasha wore this metallic Bianca Spender two piece to the Elle Australia Style awards.   As the founder of a swimwear line it’s no wonder that Ms Oakley has a killer body and this cropped top shows off her seriously toned abs. I’m not envious at all! I love this outfit and I think Natasha wears it really well. The metallic colour of the two piece looks perfect against Natasha’s naturally sun-kissed skin.

If you follow Natasha on her social media accounts you will quickly notice that the blonde bombshell never seems to have a bad hair day. This event was no different as she finished off her look with retro Farrah Fawcett hair and make up.

That’s all for this evening. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend ! Until next time  Xx Elle

PS. Personal look coming very soon on the blog

It’s been a while since I last shared a ‘My style’ outfit post with you guys, so today I thought it was about time I did just that. Luckily I have a week off from college at the moment so I have been enjoying a little bit of ‘me’ time. Not so luckily, I have a 2,000 word essay due when I go back, so I have also been working on that for the past while.  But today I reached the light at the end of the tunnel and I finished the essay…well aside from a little referencing but hey it’s all good! I took these photos at the beginning of the week before I headed into town for a bit of a ramble around the shops. The good thing about overalls is that you can put your whole outfit together in less than five minutes. Wear them with a shirt or sweater underneath and step into your favourite pair of shoes and you’re good to go. Easy peasy. Perfect for that morning when you’ve hit the snooze button one too many times! I wore these Asos overalls with a cream, light jumper underneath and my new Carvella patent brogues. Very comfortable but do be warned, not the most toilet-friendly outfit…That’s all for today. I hope you’ve enjoyed the post. Until next time,

Xx Elle
